Re-posted w/permission: ----------------- Hey gang! Everyone's in an uproar about the ratings, and we all have reason to be. However, I decided to dig up some information from the production team at TRU CALLING. This is what I heard from my writer pal... "Here's the official word on the ratings. Studio and network are happy. Here's why. We HELD our numbers in the key demmo for this show - women 18-34. In fact, in that segment we came in third for the night beating ABC, WB and UPN. Where the overall numbers went down was - we lost the older folks who tuned in for the pilot - realized it wasn't for them, and tuned out for week two. If we can keep holding in that W18-34 (women age 18-34) demo, you'll all most likely get a full season of Tru Calling. Feel free to spread the news." This also was said... "Unconfirmed rumor that Fox will be ordering more scripts from us. It's not a commitment to shoot them yet - but it's the first step towards getting a full season production order beyond our initial 13." Definetly keep the momentum going on this board by talking about the episodes, and telling people about the show. Go to other boards like Television Without Pity and TV TOME and post what you like about the show there. On the support TRU Calling site there's an address to write Gail Berman and a 1-800 to call. When you call or write, make sure you let FOX know your age and gender, as much personal information about yourself as you can. This will let them know, personally, that they're hitting their demographic. If anyone has any other questions, I'll be happy to relay them. My email is: lara_giesbers_1@hotmail.com -end quote- ------------------- BTW FOX ASKED FOR 3 MORE TC SCRIPTS YESTERDAY...

That is awesome and I am so glad with the results. Most of the people out there who watched the pilot and the second episode were Eliza/Faith fans and the others are just amazing people and I thank them so much for watching TC! The day after the premiere episode I got a bunch of calls from people who signed my shirt and told me they loved it and that they'd definately tune into the second episode. Yesterday before my acting cl@ss I got a call from a lot of those same people and even my agent! They all said they loved the second episode even better than the first and that the creators were on the right track. Anyway, most of the people who called me were girls about 16-28, and there were guys too, probably from the ages 20-30. I'm so glad that the show is getting positive feedback and the FOX bought 3 more scripts, I'm getting really excited and prepared for a whole season of TC.
I have 'faith' in Tru Calling.

Hey SG, You really did alot of work promoting TC, Im glad you won...btw you should receive the Autographed pic any day. You have an agent? Did you send your pic and info to the Tru Calling casting address yet? And Fox asking for 3 more scripts IS definately a good sign. Im glad you have 'faith' in Tru Calling. I too truly have faith in Eliza and TC.

The "Women 18-34" might be called "The Young and the Gullible." The networks like them because the sponsors like them because they spend freely on high-markup goods. (Note who the advertisers are.) They are also the most fickle viewers. If someone else offers them a little more melodrama or a little more soap, they're gone. So the producers want to hold a wider audience. There is more drama behind the scenes than what falls out of the tube.

Yea, I really wanted to be sure the people watched the pilot, although not everyone called but a lot of them did which gave me some more hope that the ratings would be good.
And yes, I have an agent. I actually asked her the other day if she could look into the TC thing. The process is looking if there's any auditions open and then he/she send you on them, or if there aren't any auditions happening but they're excepting resumes and headshots he/she will send yours out and see what happens. Usually if they like what they see, in the resume and headshots, they call the agent and negotiate. So I asked and she's gunna call me on Monday to tell me, she'll definately send my resume/headshots though because I told her about the excepting thingy, lmao. So I'm actually really excited because I had forgotten about it until I went and read through all the boards.
And I'm psyched about the scripts, I really am. Because if Fox likes what they're reading they'll have the ep. shot and aired and I'm sure they'll like the script because the show is really going places now and I'm really looking forward to a full season.

Q,
(I like that, 'Q',..but now Im thinking of Star Trek:TNG & James Bond...)
I can see their strategy...'Faith' already has a wide audience in that younger group, and a slightly older audience should really relate to 'Tru'...and its the subject matter, the seriousness of it, Morgues, Death, etc., that an older audience should relate to, but they first have to get past the 'time travel' aspect of the show; people have to first give it a chance....if it hangs on, and Friends is finally gone, Eliza should win some awards for TC, because its a fantastic opportunity to produce real heart wrenching drama; then older viewers would take a look see....but in todays world of instant gratification and instant profits, while ignoring the future, I worry about the show...its already shown 'greatness', now it has to be promoted to anyone and everyone... and that means that fans have to get their friends and family to at least watch one EP, and the cast has to start on the talk show tour as soon as possible...including certain big name radio personalitles programs...
I like it and get the feeling that it won't fall into the trap of being predictable , with a 'monster of the week' format...theres 'so' much there to work with...what happened to the woman she stopped from commiting suicide? Who was the other number 32 brought in that night? Are the authorites going to start hearing about Tru being around all of these disasters? Will her friends think shes gone crazy and abandon her?
They have a great format to work with, a fantastic star, and already likeable co-stars....now its up to the writers to break new ground and really explore the subject...theres enough there to create real greatness for years to come...
...Maybe its todays version of morality plays, but in todays world, where the hero is human and not always heroic, and has to pay the price of 'no good deed going unpunished'...and if its the case where the greater the deed, the greater the punishment...!

I was reading over a whole bunch of questions people are asking of the show and I was thinking 'Wow, this is great because the more people ask questions, the more the opportunity for them to get answered!'
Have you ever thought of maybe some writers or producers or even the creators of the show come on and look through some websites, coming across questions that fans are asking? Maybe they do, and in the spirit of that thought, I think that it's good we're asking questions. So keep asking questions because it's a good thing, very good, actually.
Just had to say that, it was sort of bugging me [the thought] lmao.
