i have a potentially major problem. i know someone--her name's sara (i figure that's a common name, i won't say her last name cuz a) u prolly won't believe me b)i can't spell it c) y would i???). one day in the cafeteria, she had a coke bottle. rum looks a lot like coke. i swear, i smelled it and i don't think there was any coke in there @ all, it was just rum-the alcoholic kind, and we're sorta underage-14. normally a little alcohol wouldn't b a problem but she had about a litre of it until she was so drunk she was making us smell it and trying 2 get us 2 try it. we tried 2 take away the bottle and she wouldn't let us, and so my friend goes "i wanna try it" and sara goes "ok" and hands the bottle over. my friend takes it and throws it out (she's a genius!!!), and sara started 2 take it out of the garbage (she was drunk) but didn't end up getting it. a teacher saw and came over and sara complained 2 the teacher and so the teacher was gonna give her $$ to buy more coke but then someone told the teacher it was rum not coke and sara got suspended. when she came back, she said "i'm neva getting suspended again cuz i neva wanna have 2 spend a week with my dad again." he is abusive, but not really physically. he used 2 hit her older brother, and got in trouble so he knows someone'll call the cops if sara is bruised or anything, so now it's more emotional/psychological abuse. he won't let her talk 2 her best friend cuz she told him about the abuse more than she's told anyone and he's threatening 2 tell the cops. sara got mad @ her dad, and he hit her, and she hit him back, and then he really got mad. she says she doesn't care when he hits her cuz she'll just hit him back, and she basically hates her whole family. her bro's left, her parents r divorced and how her dad got custody i have no idea except her mom doesn't care, & her dad got remarried but her stepmom disappeared (im not sure wat happened 2 her).
so in a nutshell her life's really screwed up. as you could probably tell, im not 2 sure of her family situation, and i have seen worse abuse, but abuse is abuse. and im not sure if/who i should tell. my friends aren't really sure either, and we don't really want 2 become involved 2 deeply but we want 2 help, if that makes sense. i think we should tell, but who would we tell?? she says she doesn't care, but i think she's p'd off @ the world, and rightly so. anywho, i really don't know what 2 do. any suggestions?? plz??
